Madhu Yalamarthi is the Cofounder and CEO of Modak, a fintech startup focused on leveraging the power of technology and finance to empower kids in reaching their fullest potential. Modak raised $19.2M in seed and Series A funding from GGV Capital, Nazca, Monashees, and 30 other leading entrepreneurs and angels across Silicon Valley and Latam. Modak is one of the highest valued Series A fintech companies in the Americas now, and one of the few product-first companies building from Latam for the world.

Prior to Modak, Madhu was a Vice President at GGV Capital where he was the apprentice to Hans Tung and assisted him in setting up the firm’s presence in India and Latin America. He has invested ~$200M in 14 companies, of which 5 became unicorns. Prior to GGV, Madhu worked across India, Africa, and the US in strategy, operations, and product development. Madhu has a MBA and MS from Stanford University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his MBA class.
